No boys... I'm not turning straight. I'm talking about the singing group "the girls" with Lori Dokken, Erin Schwab, Judi Donaghy & now Patty Peterson. Jayson and I crossed the river {sigh} on Thursday night and saw "the girls" at the Townhouse Bar in St. Paul. The Townhouse is the Twin Cities best piano bar featuring Lori Dokken and guests Thursday - Saturday evenings. But here's the good news... you don't have to cross the river to see them yourselves! They will all be together at the Times Bar & Cafe in Northeast Minneapolis this coming Monday, November 7! If you miss that performance (which you shouldn't, but I understand) watch at loridokken.com for other performances throughout the Twin Cities best Jazz clubs. Check out what the Dakota Jazz Club and The Rake magazine have to say about them.
So all of that and you're still wondering, well what types of songs do they sing??? You'll hear everything from the Rolling Stones to Stevie Wonder, from Dream On to Spanish Harlem, from Broadway Showtunes to Classic Rock and of course my favorite Lady Marmalade! All with incredible energy and passion.
They're so good I have just one question to ask... "Voulez vous coucher avec moi ce soir?"
still humming, tim
I went to HS w/ Erin Schwab, we were in choir together and I had a bit part to her lead in "Carousel". I can still hear her showstopping voice in "You're A Queer One, Julie Jordan"! She was AMAZING! What a voice! Glad to see she is still honing her craft!
