Leaving on a Jetplane...

I've spent 2 of the last 3 weeks traveling for work, and have spent some quality time at our local MSP Minneapolis-St Paul International Airport.  Now, I'm not one that likes to spend too much time at the airport, so 45-60 minutes prior to departure is my standard arrival time.  Just enough time to check my luggage, buy a magazine, grab an Americano from Starbucks and head to the gate just in time for them to call my row!  That is, since we're lucky enough to not have Southwest Airlines, the kindergarten of airlines, flying out of MSP (I'm pulling for the gay man of airlines-Jet Blue to start servicing MSP).  I found out this week that when you fly on Southwest, you must check-in as early as possible and hope you are graced with the once scarlet letter "A" on your boarding pass and be at the gate to stand in a single-file line waiting for the plane to board.  Don't worry, there are enough decorations and arts-and-crafts at the gate to keep you amused while waiting (I was looking for the macaroni and popsicle stick airplanes on the counter).  But this blog is not about an airline that doesn't fly into MSP...  it's about our award winning Northstar Crossing.

As I walked through the Main Terminal on the gorgeous new marble floor, much of the area around me was boarded up and under construction.  The signs on the construction walls peaked my interest though...  Harley Davidson is coming to MSP!  But of course, Harley Davidson isn't enough for me to get to the airport early.  Rock Bottom Brewery is though!  Yes, MSP is getting some fantastic restaurants such as Rock Bottom Brewery, Buca di Beppo, Murray's and more!  So if your future travels bring you to MSP, consider checking-in early so you can enjoy some of the fine restaurants at the Northstar Crossing!  Finally...  no more meals at Chili's to go!  jet lagged with love, tim
